Hi George The best I can do, even as a moderator, is start a new thread. I thought to head it up Flora but then I thought folks might think I meant that stuff that's not butter. I still can't put up photos but I'm going to try photobucket and see how I get on with them. Pat

I've moved the 'Flowers' thread into the 'Gardening' section as the pics are of garden flowers.

Here's several cactus flowers, grown in the sitooterie. Hard to imagine that such beautiful flowers can grow from such an ugly parent. They only flower for a day or so, then start to wilt

Getting cacti to flower is a difficult process but very rewarding when it happens. They are very beautiful flowers. have you been to the winter gardens at Hazel Head Park in Aberdeen? Some real beauts there. Pat

Beautiful flower pictures above - especially like that rose. Which variety is it? This one I had to send you even thought the quality isn't that brilliant. Taken this morning 7th January 2007 - geraniums still happily blooming on our window sill. Just bizzare!!!

I have just received an email from a friend telling me that the rose in question is most likely: "Morning Glory" a Scottish bred rose for Exposed situations. ideal for Shetland." I have no luck with roses due to the salt spay that comes in with easterly gales. Any tips? Pat
