Here's a big brown cow I saw earlier in the week. I said "How now, Brown Cow?" being a polite sort of person. But, I didn't hang about too long - it had a wild look in its eye!!!

A great expression on its face, no wonder it looks wild stuck between the rear ends of two more, I wouldn't be happy either.

That Black cow doesn't look very friendly, think you were wise to stay in your car.
The other two are rather beautiful.

I wonder what breed the black cow is, it looks rather Shetland. In my opinion it looks a bit hungry but that maybe the breed is like that.

I wonder what breed the black cow is, it looks rather Shetland. In my opinion it looks a bit hungry but that maybe the breed is like that. That's why I stayed in the car oldbat!! It was sniffing round my open window slobbering all over my wing mirror looking for food, I think. It had escaped from a job lot of young bullocks being "fattened". The rest were in the field further down the lane. I thought it looked a bit hungry! Not sure that it was any particular breed really - maybe a cross bred. It looked pretty cross to me!

Good idea benjiesmum to stay in the car, anything bigger than me and I keep away. I was just reflecting on the fact that I milked my first cow at the grand old age of 7, a red beef shorthorn. I got two pulls of her teats and before I knew where I was me and bucket was in the other stall. Did I get sympathy, no - I was told to get back under her again and have another go. !!!!!!!

That's the way to learn! Like getting back on a horse after it's thrown you. I had a very close encounter with a HUGE herd of bullocks recently. My friend and I and the two dogs climbed over a stile and to my horror, just on the other side was a whole bunch of VERY BIG bullocks breathing heavy and snorting. I suggested to my friend that we shouldn't venture into the Mean Mass of Meat - but she ( a headteacher at a naughty boys' school so stands no messing and a cattle breeder as well ) retorted "Nonsense!" and strode forth with me trailing miserably behind. I will never forget my sheer terror as they all cantered....nay...GALLOPED up and surrounded us. We were lucky to get away with our lives. She just told them all off and off they went. I know this because I spied her doing this as I picked myself up off the floor where I had been cowering behind the dog. ;D Not to be trusted cows!!!
