Hello everyone, is there a web cam in your vicinity similar to the one overlooking Lunna House and at times the Church. I check on it regularly to what the weather is doing, looks a very pleasant day up there today.

I was hoping that we might get a webcam (or two or three) set up for this website, because to my knowledge there isn't one for Northmavine. Apart from the Lunna House one, there is: www.nafc.ac.uk/about_north_atlantic_fisheries_college/general/webcam/ the North Atlantic Fisheries College in Scalloway. Fair Isle Weather also has a webcam, but it doesn't update all that regularly and its getting ever further away from Northmavine! - www.northisles-weather.co.uk/If the means allow, i'd like to get one set up at home... but not in the immediate immediate future. david

Thanks David, you are never far away from this forum are you.
Weather in Scalloway not quite so bright as early pictures of Lunna then, the last one is suffering from some interference, on my screen anyway.
Looks like a "pea souper" on Fair Isle.
We have had a lot of rain in past hour or so down here, so Lunna is the place to be at the moment weatherwise.

There was some talk of installing a web-cam at the lighthouse at Eshaness. A volcanic trail is going to be developed in Northmavine in the near future with one of the outbuildings at the lighthouse providing a small visitor centre. Perhaps something could be set up in conjuction with this? There was also talk of filming the terrific "storm beach" at the Grind O Da Navir. It would be fantastic to watch the sea ripping huge chunks of rock from the "amphitheatre" at da Grind....but the gale/hurricane force winds would require some pretty substantial equipment!
