He looks a bit sad, poor thing. Not even sitting on a proper rock, just looks like a bit of old rope.

Hear is a wee true story that my son told me.... he was going down to the wellcome-inn last week for a pint, it was about eight pm. as he was walking he noticed that an otter was walking across the road from him, it looked at him and just kept walking in the same direction, he went into the inn and the otter carried on down to the pier..... the following night he left the inn and was walking home. when he almost tripped over the otter, it was going in the same direction as him, they just looked at each other and carried on up the road, then Allan spotted a baby hedgehog on the road, so he stopped and lifted it off the road, he then saw the otter going under one of the villagers shed.. so he thinks that that is where it bides at night-time...amazing but true...

Nice story, George. Someone just told me a story about an otter which happened recently. This was at their house in Heylor, the door was open and the lady saw something out of the corner of her eye which she presumed to be a cat at her cat's feeding bowl. She looked properly and couldn't believe it was an otter which had come into the house and was pinching her cat's food!!

Yes benji it is, a lot of otters are killed by crossing the road, and by getting trapped in lobster pots....

The otter in the water is sooooooooo much nicer than the stuffed one - lovely animal but I don't care for seeing them stuffed no matter how they died, just too for me

Must have missed these pics but well done again George. Like DL, I prefer the real ones to the stuffed, but doesn't he look like he's warming himself by the fire!

Hi george How're you doin? Happy New Year. I had a wonderful sighting of a young otter after the gales last week. It was running along the banks broo below our house at Cunningsburgh scoffing bits and pieces that were thrown up by the sea. There was a photo in the paper of my neighbour's lass with her washed up ollick if you recall. I ran for my camera but it noticed me before I could get a good photo. I took some photos of the debris and brukk which i'll try to find time to post. Pat

Happy new year to you also pat.. I think the otter i watched today was sheltering from the strong NN.easterly.. the waves were surging ower the rock's.. then it must have noticed me.. the kelp was piled up on the rocks. it broke cover and ran ower the kelp and straight into the sea.. then it swam towards me.. thats when i took its photo.. a pity i did'na have my big lens fitted on the camera..
