Hi.Benji. I think he is a lone Otter, it seem's to hang about around the same area..but just as the tide ebb's he goe's out to start feeding...it may be that he is the last one of the family that I watched earlier in the year..my son found one dead up in the bank's, and one was found dead over at the Toft ferry terminal..it may have drowned in a lobster pot..as it was floating in the sea....

The otter is just lovely, bet its a real treat for you to just sit and watch his antics, he was really having a good look at you. Beautiful shots.

We went out for a walk at Stenness <Eshaness> tonight and stood in the drizzle watching what we think were 3 otters in the water close to Stenness beach. <Dang! Forgot the binocs! > Have you seen otters there before, George?

Hi.Fiona. Not at Steness..I used to video them on the CCTV. when I worked on the terminal..but seen plenty at Toft and mossbank..seen them at Graven..and when I was working at the new school at Ollaberry..seen a family of them once at Mavis-Grind..

Can you spot your otters here Fiona? I was at Stenness this afternoon but didn't have time to go down to the beach as had to hurry home to catch the fishvan - I can't possibly miss that not even for otter spotting!

Hi.Bod. The same rule applie's for any wild animal...try to keep as still and quiet as you can..try to blend in with your surrounding's using whatever is available.. To answer your next question about the smallest bird we have in the UK. I believe it's the Goldcrest.... And Bod you must be as ald as me, talking aboot that ald film..Ring o Bright Watter..he.he.he. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think Freddy was just sniffing the air as he smelt my fish frying! Ps Sorry benjiesmum but there were no leftovers for otters or anyone else cos it was just soooooo delicious!

As for bein as old as you George - worra you lyke, am only 21, its just that people have told me about these things. (Do you remember Tales of the Riverbank and Four Feather Falls!!!)
