This year seems to be flying by so fast.........It's nearly time for Da Voar Redd Up again and it seems no time since we were last filling those bags at Mavis Grind. This year the NDC will redd up at Mavis Grind on Monday 7th April at 6.30pm and we'd be very blyde to see any helpers or receive donations fae anyone who'd be willing to sponsor us. Thanks for the advice Allen! Mavis Grind redders take heed........look oot your wirsit draaers ower da weekend. Wirsit draaers (pronounced wirrrsit drrraaers - remember us Shetlanders roll wir rrrs!) are the Shetland words for "woollen pants". I always think the sound of these words in the shetland language is so descriptive and sounds like something that would keep you warm on a cold day. Woollen pants just sounds so feeble!

I'll update you ageen on Sunday. Mavis Grind redd-up forecast NE-ENE wind force 6 aseing tae a force 3 or 4 in da efternune an evening. Shoory rain but dat might become mair persistent in da evening. I’ll update da forceast ageen da moarns morning

Sorry I couldna be wi you on da redd-up - pesky flu I wis lookin forward ta rollin me arrs in me wirsit draaers too ;D Thanks ta Allen fur da donation an da forecasts (accurate as ever I see - oh Sella Ness met office how we miss you!). How aboot a pay-as-you-go web wadder forecasts as a sideline Allen? Maybe hosted on this website? Just a thought....

I suppose I can hark a peerie secret in your lug - A weel kent voice I'll be doing daily wadder forecasts on da new Tourist Radio station whin it goes on air later dis month operated by Visit Shetland - I dunna keen da exact start date or da wireless frequency yit.
