I wiz headin nort last week an stopped underneath the wind turbines to takk a photo of a beautiful cloud arrangement (if only I could paint!). Any way, as I wiz takkin da photos I noticed the whishing noise that these five huge overpowering machines made. I have to say never having stopped there before that I found the sound annoying and ceaseless.

A photo for bonna. I took this that day when I was so impressed with the clouds. The old head's likely always been in them anyway!

Nice pic Pat - it certainly gives the impression of how insignificant the wind turbine can be when you have all the expanse of a lovely sky to look at (if you can ignore the intrusive noise of them that is).

Hi deltinglass Yup, even I can put up with one or two turbines, it's just when there are so many that I find it hard to accept.

Just heard on the radio that it's expected the Lewis windfarm proposal will be rejected. I wonder if that'll have an adverse affect on the plans of Viking Energy for Shetland? On the other hand it'll maybe mean that VE's plan are actively encouraged as renewable targets need to be met?
