The sheep are adorable!! But what are the faces made of? Bod, you have quite the eye for veggies!! Had to cheat a little with this cauliflower bodies, chive grass, asparagus and broccoli tree, had to buy some liquorice for the legs and I cut out the faces from cardboard, painted them black and used a silver gel pen for features. Glad you like them.

A needle felted chicken: Made a pair of socks for my niece this week, one of a pair for her sister done too. My daughter brought home a naked baby doll from the nursery she works in to be clothed and a friend had a baby boy so I crocheted him a jacket from an online pattern. My latest baskets: A LARGE egg basket! A shopping basket:

Some real talent there jaydee! I know nothing about felting but I really like that chicken - it's cute. I've never been a knitter either - except I once knitted a very, very long scarf when I was at school and a tea cosy when I was in Brownies! Your basket work looks interesting. What are they made of - willow I presume? The handles look hard to do - as does the rest of the weaving in and out. Lovely - and very satifying I expect. ;D

You have a few different talents there Jaydee. Not sure how you have made the chicken but its really good, never heard of "needle felt" before? Nice little outfits you crocheted, had a go at crocheting many years ago but only managed to do circles!! The baskets are very clever, do you have to wet the willow before weaving to make it more pliable.

Thank you for your comments. I taught myself needle felting after watching Bunchy do it at a craft fair. One example of needle felting instructions: www.bearhugs.co.uk/needlefelting.htmI did a basket making course last year over a weekend - loved it and have made a few baskets since - once I found somewhere that would send willow to Shetland! They are all made of willow - the green is 'natural', the dark brown is steamed with bark on and the lighter brown or 'buff' is steamed then the bark is stripped off. I hasten to add I bought it like that! The willow is soaked before use , the buff is ready in hours - the others take days. I would like to try other materials - but supply is a problem - a few hedgerows in need of a trim would be handy!

Your baskets etc are lovely jaydee, where did you find the classes. The SWRI used to be great for classes and you could go to the mainland for a weeks residential course via them

Fraid not with SWRI. Five days and nights intensive training. These ladies are fanatical. I can remember sitting up till 2 a.m. trying to learn some kind of embroidery.
