A very successful example of this type of scheme can be found in another Initiative at the Edge area, North Ronaldsay in Orkney Although the website does not explain how the scheme works it is an interesting website: www.orkneycommunities.co.uk/NORTHRONALDSAYTRUST/The North Ronaldsay community recently featured in the BBC restoration programme as they are hoping to restore the old lighthouse on the island as a visitor attraction. www.bbc.co.uk/history/programmes/restoration/Pat

Very interesting website indeed, thanks for the link
Good to see a similar outfit a bit further down the line. Shows what is possible, the kind of development that is not out of range.

This reply is really in addition to Maree and Fiona's thoughts today on what would be good additions to the website.
I attended a meeting last night of the local Tourism Group and a guest of the group brought up the subject of a 'Friends Of' scheme. This was metioned as a good way to raise money for the sustainability of projects including community websites.
We are all working towards the future of this website just now and would welcome your comments on this. Any other ideas also welcome.
