The NDC would like to say a huge thank you to Allen Fraser of Shetland Geotours for the many hours of work he's obviously given to this project over the winter. We hope he has many folk over the summer who wish to take the virtual tour for real!

It is very cleverly done and makes excellent viewing too. A great deal of hard work and vision has gone into this project. Well done to Allen and co!

Apologies to anyone looking at the virtual tour using Firefox or Opera browsers and finding the left hand fly out menus were hidden behind the virtual tour. Some kind souls elsewhere have just pointed this out to me so I've sorted it now - the fly out menus should now fly out over the virtual tour! Tsk, I usually test stuff out in the most common browsers but must have forgotten this time. Sorry!

Thanks but I can't take the credit for it - it's all Allen's hard work.

Just taken the tour for the first time - let me add my thanks to Allan and Fiona for an excellent addition to the website. Nice balance between rocks and scenery for the non-geologists among us.

Glad you like the tour folks – I still have a few tweaks to make to it and some images I’d like to find if anyone has any to donate: - I’d like an image of and/or the location of Yacob Stays grave on the shore of Sand Voe – he was a thief from a pirate ship anchored in Sand Voe that was buried alive for stealing from his comrades. Also an image of the Kirn o Slettans at the Eshaness Light spouting

This is a great additon. Interpetation Nort will also have a virtual tour available at the Summer Exhibition in the North Roe & Lochend Hall that has been compiled by our excellent local photogapher Lorna Sandison. This has come about because it was mentioned at the start of the formation of IN that many of the visitors to the Nort end of Shetland were unable to walk to the more beautiful places of Northmavine

It's on the Local Stuff Northmavine board I think. Perhaps Fred would agree to it's use for the virtual tour?

Yes - that's a great picture of the Kirn - I would certainly like to put it in the tour if ok with Fred
