The google car with the 360 deg camera on top has just been here in Hillswick. Hubby was working out at the front so has been caught on camera unintentionally as the car sped up and turned beside us.

Gosh! It's getting everywhere that car! Some people don't like it - saying it's great for criminals etc. What do you think? Wonder how long it will take to get from camera to the internet so we can all see hubby in the garden!

Its a difficult one Benjiesmum, the fact it may help criminals may very well be correct, but we all use the web for information and we like to look around the world at its sights and wonders. If it does helps criminals it is one more chunk of freedom being ripped away should this google viewing service not be allowed, much the same as all our travel arrangements particularly flying anywhere are affected due to terrorism. Life is more complicated by the day due to health and safety issues and the litigation society. Many areas are trashed by vandals/youths and nothing seems to be done on this, the vast majority of people are law abiding citizens but our lives are blighted by these factions of our society. Sadly these factions are winning and we normal law abiding people are very much on the losing side.

Gluss pics are a hive of activity - check out the re-cladding works going on - and my house looks like a hotbed of domestic goddessry, however misleading that might be. ;D

Hi.Sheltie.. go to google and in their browser, click maps, the map should show, then put in an address, zoom in a bit, then on the left side of the map you will see a wee yellow man, click and drag it to the road you have selected, you will see a wee green circle under the man, place that on the road, then you will see the street roads.. hope that helps.. this is a link.. just put your main rd. in the address.. maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

First go to.... maps.google.co.uk/ Type in place name (e.g. Ollaberry or Hillswick or whatever or use your post code) in the search maps bar at the top of the page. Zoom in a little bit until you see the desired street/place. On the zoom bar on the left, you will see a little yellow man. Click on him and drag him to your desired destination. Roads which are coloured blue when zoomed in are on 'street view'. Click and drag the edges of the pic for a 360° view. Easier to do than explain

Check out the bit in Hillswick between Stucca and the church. Scottie (and dog) are famous! (Or is that infamous.. )
