I am interested in finding out if there are many folks in shetland who keep pigs. What are your experiences? What do you keep? Do you market your pigs or pork?

Welcome to the forum mgb. I hope you find a home for your piglets......albeit perhaps temporarily!
From past experience in keeping pigs ( I had a Kune Kune and a Pot Bellied Pig), they are clean, friendly, highly intelligent animals. I had planned to keep them as pets and avoid the dinner plate, but after a few.....shall we say......liaisons...with Daddy maree's Suffolk rams......they sadly went on a one-way trip to Sumburgh I would recommend robust fencing!!
As to an answer for your poll.......I would buy pork from a local producer if I knew where to find one.

I have a friend who has had a few pigs now and again. She reckons nothing smells as good as a new born piglet!!!
