As you may have seen in Maree's North Mainland Notes in the Shetland Times, the Northmavine Tourism Group have brought out a Northmavine guide book - 'A Visitors' Quick Guide to Northmavine'- £4.50. Packed full of must-see insider info about Northmavine - no visit is complete without a copy! When Maree gave me a copy, I was really impressed. I wasn't expecting it to be so comprehensive <36 pages> plus I was very impressed by the quality of the paper & printing - all in all, very professionally done with lots of local information. Hubby and I went up to North Roe yesterday and once there, we were thinking about where to go. Doh! If only I'd taken me guide book with me! <As it turned out, we had a walk out the Uyea road and a visit to the Nort Trow Exhibition in the hall. > I've mentioned the guide book on the website homepage plus there is a page all about the book and where to get it. www.northmavine.com/northmavine_guide_book.htmAvailable for £4.50 from: - Braewick Café and Caravan Park, Braewick, Eshaness
- Ollaberry Shop
- Nort Trow Summer Exhibition, North Roe & Lochend Hall
- NCDC Office, Greenbrae, South Collafirth
- Brae Garage
- Tourist Office, Market Cross, Lerwick
It's also going to be available online via the Northmavine website, once I get it set up for PayPal. You don't need to have a PayPal account to buy something via PayPal - you can just use your credit card but it goes through PP's secure payment system.

At the moment, yes. I've mentioned to Maree what postage costs would be likely to be and can add that on if need be.

We've decided to make the on-line retail price the same price as folk can buy it locally here in Shetland ........so......don't all rush at once!! Thanks Fi for all your hard work in setting up the paypal..and everything else

Being in Shetland for UHA in Lerwick I bought the "Quick Guide" and was in Northmavine this afternoon. (Thanks to Maree ) Finding the "Heel shaped Cairn" in Isleburgh was easy, but finding the "Hollanders Graves" and the "Burnside Burnt Mound" was, even with the assistance of an Ordonance Survey Map 1:50.000, impossible. Maybe the description for getting to the places should be improved in the next edition, but in general the guide is very helpfull.
