I am sure Baby Bubblerock (Adam Dawson) does the whole job or he used to anyway as he did my neighbour's dish and set up the Sky box inside her house too. Our dish fell off the wall on Hogmanay last year (rusted away too) so we were resigned to having no Sky all New Year but after phoning a place in Lerwick (might have been Tait Electronics?) who referred us on to someone else who came and put up a new one that day so we had a working system again the same day:) Not too sure if it was the Work man or not, can't remember now really but it took him no time to sort it out and that was the job done - MM couldn't believe that he had come out on Hogmanay, that's good service for you!

There's a thread about Sky fitters on Shetlink at the moment. www.shetlink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3616&start=15Someone on there said that because of the local bloke being ill, Sky sent a couple of blokes up for a week to catch up with the backlog, but I presume they'll have gone by now. Hopefully the backlog might have reduced though. 'tlady' on Shetlink seems to be the lady in the know, so anyone with queries could always try pm'ing her. Robbie Work used to do it but last I heard he was in Norway - not sure if he still is. He was great - very very helpful and knowledgeable. We did have Baby Bubblerock <as deltinglass calls him > one time when he came to replace a faulty box years ago, but not sure if he still does it.

I took this photo today at vidlin, I was told many year's ago that it is a kind o mangle, [winch] for winding in the boat's into their noost's, is that what they are used for [or not] , the only other one I know about, is in firth voe, on the south side, ie across from sandside, i'm hoping that heimdal might know the answer... the name at the bottom of it look's like THE HELLNT..

I'm not going to be much help to you George, but I think there's one down below Greenbrae as weel near the shore. I haven't been down to inspect it yet, but if it's a fine day da moarn (and I take nmy rubber boots!) I'll maybe nip down for a look.......then we'll still be none the wiser!
