Thought this may be of interest in the Green Room. It's very new but seems to be gaining ground..... www.transitiontowns.organd.. www.transitionculture.orgThere are currently ten Transition Towns in the United Kingdom, including Lewes, Stroud, Bristol and Falmouth. The aim of a Transition Town is to develop a local response to the challenges posed by climate change and our over-dependence on fossil fuels. Action can then be taken at a local level. Credition in Devon is the latest to apply for such status. There don't appear to be any as yet in Scotland or Wales. It is also open to villages and areas not just towns to be included. (Info. from a letter in this month's Country Smallholding magazine)
