To avoid the forum being swamped by spam, it is necessary to register to post. Registration only takes a minute. (Any spam will be deleted as soon as its spotted.) You must supply a valid email address when registering as this is used to contact you to activate your registration and may be used to contact you. Your email address doesn't have to be visible to the public unless you particularly want it to be. Please ensure that you set your email address as 'hide email - yes' unless you want it to be seen publicly. Members can add more information to their publicly viewable profile, but do so at their own risk. To hide your email address/change your profile - got to 'profile' (see top of page) -> 'modify profile'. Privacy - We don't share any members' names, email addresses, etc.
There will be at least one moderator in each part of the forum. (Fiona is listed as sole moderator in all boards until more moderators are appointed.) A moderator's role is to look after the forum and its members - to help and guide and to make sure that people are behaving! A moderator (mod) has powers to move posts, ban members, etc but primarily they are there to help and ensure the smooth operation of the forum. Please avoid any abusive or obscene language and please abide by moderators' wishes.
The forum is a community venture and it needs to be community-run with community involvement. There will be a trial period of 3 mths for the forum. If, at the end of the trial period, the forum is not being used or (should it get busy) there aren't enough people helping, then it will be pulled. But hopefully it won't come to that! Edit: Trial period now 6 mths.

<mad voice>You have no escape now...</mad voice> Yeah, the 6 mth trial thingy 
was just that we didn't know if the forum would be a go-er. We weren't sure if people would want to post on it & help out. However it's had a really good start with 42 members now. It's great that some folks just pop in for a quick read but it would be fantastic if some more would post - even to say hello!
