Hi obinem, Welcome to the forum. I'm not aware of anyone renting bikes in this area, although it's something that I believe has been considered. Someone else might know if there are any facilities planned. If you're staying in this area, I'm not sure if any of the accommodation providers offer bikes. Hope you enjoy your visit. You'll find some information and useful links on the Northmavine website - www.northmavine.com and ask away if you have any other questions.

When I rent a bike in Lerwick, is it possible to transport the bike to Northmavine in the public bus ? Unless things have changed from last summer - the answer is no. I spoke to German tourists last year that who had brought their bikes to Shetland and wanted to spend their holiday cycling around Northmavine and also West Mainland. According to them they were (rather abruptly) told that they couldn't take their bikes on public transport.

Hi, I will spend a few days in Northmavine near Hillswick / Urafirth next May and would like to know if it is possible to rent a bike near Hillswick As Fiona said, this is something that has been discussed previously. It's impossible to rent a bike North of Lerwick. This could be a useful sideline for current businesses/crofters. I can't rent you one obinem, but if your legs are the same length as mine I can lend you one if the gap in the market hasn't been filled by a local business/crofter by the time you come to Northmavine. The problem with taking bikes on public transport here is that many routes are covered by a minibus and there's no room for bikes.

Thanks for the offer.
If somebody will fill the gap and establishing a possibility to rent a bike, that would be perfect, but if not: I am 1 m 80 tall.
