Hi everyone. Its been a while since I've been on this forum! Thanks for the advertising sheltie!! There is indeed a new site - it became live at 6am this morning after a lot of sleepless nights over the last few weeks!
The site is reasonably similar to designed in shetland, but it isn't just for local crafts and products "designed in shetland"! I'm hoping the site will eventually include local produce from crofts, high street bargains available in Shetland, and niche products from small Shetland businesses. Plus its another "business" starting up in Northmavine, although I think a business is supposed to generate profit, so not sure that term is very appropriate just yet. I think I'll stick with "Project" for now and see how it goes!
The site is now open for business but currently has a grand total of 4 products so probably won't of interest to many customers yet! We're now calling for local businesses, no matter how small, to take a look at the site and see how it works, and, if you want to be a part of it, to sign up.
Once the site gets slightly more mature with a reasonable catalogue, I will begin to promote the site fully with marketing campaigns. I'm hoping this can coincide with the peak visitor season too.
Please take a look at the site anyhow and see what you think.
Thanks.
Al Whitworth
