Happiness is a butterfly, which, when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. -- Nathaniel Hawthorne Taken in my back garden this afternoon ;D

Fantastic and quite a coincidence, DL. Sitting in the sun after tea, I watched a Red Admiral keep coming back to us. Sometimes it would sit on the ground, wings open in the sun. Sometimes it would sit on hubby's knee. ;D

Thanks benjiesmum and Fiona And I hope a huge lottery win completed your hubby's happiness for last night Fi! I can't imagine a butterfly actually landing on a person as they just so skittish usually!

You're right, DL. I thought it was strange. We saw two together at one stage, so perhaps they were taking it in turns to pop round the corner and sit on us! One almost flew in my face. The one that kept sitting on hubby did it a few times and sat on his knee for quite a while. <in butterfly terms > As it had been a scorcher of a day, we'd used sun cream. I started to wonder whether they were being attracted to that..

What a beautiful shot DL, they are very difficult to get a shot of, but this one was obviously enjoying the sun.

You must put them in the show. You have taken some real stunners this year and I would be disappointed if you didn't enter some of them. It's great for other folk to see your work. When is Voe Show??

Hmm! My first thought was that you have taken some very good photos of the Comma butterfly bod. But I am not sure. If it is then it is a very tidy and neat Comma because I saw the very same butterflies at the Ugly House in Betws y Coed the other day and they looked more raggedy on the edges of their wings than yours.
They are supposed to look like they have been dragged through a hedge backwards (for camouflage reasons) but I think yours look very tidy indeed!

going by your SISTER that they are usually ragged..
Ur ya gonn'a tell us the truth..
That you IRONED them first, then stuck them on a wee bit o grass.. ;D ;D ;D
