Aitch, you are right, i have never seen that density of tree's in Shetland, but then i have only ever visited in the winter months, i know there are a few areas that have tree's, there is a good size wood just before Collarfirth hill on the way to North Roe. Maybe George or other residents could tell us if there are any wood's / Forest's in Shetland.

Hi there everyone There are a few shelter belts of trees some dating back to about post war I think - heimdal might correct me about that. Some have reached a fair size such as those at Sullom. My bairns when they were little used to spend their holidays at Sullom beside my folks who had a croft there at the time. They refered to the trees there as the forrest. I once directed someone to the 'forrest' for a walk and on their return they laughed and said, "It's not exactly a forrest Pat!" Well its all relative I suppose.

It's just across the road fred.. well done.. I think the clue gave it away.. ;D ;D ;D Hi.benji. It might look calm, but believe me it was wild.. i stopped in a lay-by up the sullom road, to take a pic' of voxter, and my diesel flap blew open wae the wind..
