The Met Office wave buoy K7 which is moored about 50 miles west of Eshaness recorded waves heights of 15.9 metres (52 feet) during the storm. Officially such heights are classed as 'Phenomenal' and are a '20 year event'. Also the 93mph recorded at Lerwick is a record for a February wind.
Excellent pics Maree and George ;D ;D

Great photos again and video driving tae Nibon. A lot of damage on Faeroe - Wind at Akraberg Lighthouse reached a mean speed of 84kt (97 mph) with gusts of 110kt (127mph). Reports of damage in Faeroe included roofs off, cars damaged, boats ashore and an old folks home was evacuated before the roof was torn off and the walls collapsed. Pictures of the damage on Faeroe can be seen on facebook here www.facebook.com/pages/%C3%93dnin-Berit/293476274019374?sk=wall
