Well that was a long session, I must say. I'll pay for it today, no doubt. Good fiddle playing, good company and a lovely warm fire. I must get one of those natty boiler suits.....fashion statement or wot? And NortOwer - wot a voice you've got - X factor next stop??? Yer wasted! (And yer a good singer too!) ;D No essays to write? .....And so, off she went, waved a cheery good bye to all. Making a mental note that she would call at Farm and Pet to get a natty blue boiler suit on the way home. Braving the gale force winds whipping round her, she stumbled into her car (Only had lemonades before you ask!) and drove through the darkness towards the twinkling lights of the big city which were beckoning her in the distance.....her heart sank!!!!

Enough room ta daander fae da bar ta da fire for a change o scene... maybe even a birl Nah, I'm not the landlady, NortOwer - I just did the inauguaration ceremony. The position of landlord/landlady is vacant! What could be a possibility is for a punter or two or three or so to become landlord/landlady <or both> of 'Da Magnie's Rest'. You could have 'virtual landlord' or 'virtual landlady' <or whatever> under your name!! ;D Pat and I could either bow out as mods of the pub <was that a shriek I heard > or if the landlord/landlady didn't want to dirty their hands and have full moderator powers;) then they could have a general manager landlord/landlady role, front of house jollying folk along and organising the quiz night or whatever, and Pat and I could be the bouncers. <mods> ;D Birlin' in a pub! Jings, as if!! Would anyone birl in a pub? !!!! You'd spill your drink! ;D

Weel! Whit an opening night!! ;D NortOwer's fiddlin' was braaly good and I had no idea he could sing like that! I liked the bit where he jumped on the table, danced, played his fiddle and sang the Trowie Song and drank his Guiness at the same time. Sheer genius. Joost as well that Heimdal caught him when he fell off. ;D And didn't Heimdal look natty in that new rigoot? I'm a bit miffed that no-one commented on my outfit though.. I tried to make an effort. Still Benjiesmum looked fantastic in that top-to-toe curly wool ensemble. She must have been a bit warm though, what with the peat fire and all that birlin' she was doing. Specialk enjoyed herself too - but gin and apple tango? Must be a youngeens drink..

Your outfit was fantastic Fiona. I wish I'd worn something similar - you're right, I was sweltering a bit in all that wool. The birlin' did leave me a bit worse for wear. Have you seen the Specials Board? Looks as if there might be some good food here too as well as fiddle playing and singing: Do you see that same black camera strap in the picture again? I can't shake it off! I won't tell you what trouble I had getting this up to you all!!! The computer crashed on me four times! ;D Anyway it's up now. Dinner's on me! Now, less of this sitting at my computer - chicken cleaning out time. I'll be ready for a drink later. I quite fancy the lobster and the strawberry shortcake.

Neeps and tatties is off this week, Nortower. The neeps looked shrivelled and the tatties are being used in the mutton stew. ;D The cook says he could do chips though!

Couldn't agree more. He sends his apologies - sorry and all that but he's got standards to think about! Blimey, a dove's just flown backwards past my window. That wind's getting up again!
