So, you must be back home now george?
Well, yes of course you are! Unless you've got a very long lens! ;D

Looks really nice there, george. Those clouds look menacing though! Some lovely shots of the coastline.

There was a terrific red sky tonight, but unfortunately the ironing had to be done, so I wasn't able to escape to Eshaness ......If it's a good sunset in Sullom you can always guarantee a fantastic sunset in Eshaness.

Can't help you there george. I've no idea how to photograph meteorites. Maybe bodbailey can help you though - I think she's been on some sort of crash course!!! ;D

Should be lot's of meteor shower's on the 12th..sunday..I might go out tonight and try to get some practice shot's.. not to sure which setting's to use but I think it might be BULB.. You could also try this George. As a first try I would suggest you set up on a tripod and use the longest exposure, widest angle and smallest aperture you can, and a fairly high iso setting (say 400). The actual trails are quite bright but very short lived - we see them largely through persistence of vision. Try to get as far away from ground based sources of light as you can - these will only destroy the "night vision" of the camera for the shot. Choose a moment when a fair number of trails seem to be appearing and experiment! JJ Bodbailey has been happy to help!!

Thank's for the information Bod..I hope it's a clear night on the 12th..I posted some picture's of sunset's I took last night of sullom voe.....but there are so many thread's under photography [ twenty ] that I feel they get lost in the clutter....unless you check the 10 most recent post's.. then you would never know they were there..

now I'd better clarify it George, those weren't my words, but what I did was post the question on a fuji forum that I'm a member of and that was one of the replies I got. If only I had that sort of knowledge. Hope you get some good shots tonight.
