Your flower shots are superb geordie boy! The landscape in Shetland looks amazing at the moment with all the differing flooers. I'm especially blown away by the heathers along Mangaster at the moment from the South Sullom junction and north ........and the Monkey Flooers in Ollaberry.....and....... ;D

The name of the flower is I think 'Crocosmia'. They are an escapee from local gardens. They have swept down the Laxdale burn in Cunningsburgh taking hold here and there and will look really colourful in a couple of weeks from now - lighter orange than those in the photo. I'll try to take a photo then and get it posted up here. Good shots george.

Not 100% sure George but the yellow one looks like colt's foot and the red one mimulus - maybe! Edit: to correct spelling

I think that first one may be Cat's Ear George because Coltsfoot is a very early plant flowering in February and has very very thin petals and a button like centre. Might be wrong but I'm sure I recognise it.

Aaaggghhh!! That is an illegal weed! It is ragwort, a plant that is poisonous to horses and other grazing animals. It is called Stinking Billy in Scotland! Never touch it with bare hands it can cause a terrible rash. It is a notifiable weed and is one that councils spend millions pulling up every year. There is a Ragwort Control Act (2003)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
