Perhaps some folk are like me georgeg in that when it comes to bird spotting, I don't actually keen the name of what I'm seeing!! Unless the bird is fairly obvious like a starling or a pigeon then I'm a bit lost!!
Your pictures are fabulous. I was oot at the narrows on the Atlantic side of Mavis Grind on Sunday. Although the wind had dropped away, the sea still had a swell on fae the previous couple o windy days. There's a blow hole out at the narrows and I got some good pictures. I can't retrieve them fae cyber space, so I canna show them on the web-site!...........Anyway the pictures do not do justice to the feeling of being there....hearing the noise of the roaring waves and the smell of the sea.
I also see you're a keen fisherman..........would there be any sort of a market for gillies of sorts to take visitors to good fishing spots?
Keep posting Georgeg. Even if you're not getting many replies, as you say plenty o folk are looking at your posts so this must go to show that your posts are interesting......and that folk are looking at the site.

Thanks Mhay.. Not knowing what kind o birds..[ good point didna think o dat]..I just assumed dat most folk living in da country knew their birds...By the way since you mentioned [Pigeons] we have Rock Doves here in Shetland... ..You also asked about a market for Gillies for da fishing tourists..well to be a good Gillie you really do need to know your stuff..ie.. best place to take them [see my web site].. about what flys to use, fly lines [what type] knowing which part of a Loch fishes best..knowing where to wade in safety [some Lochs have soft bottoms] some deepen suddenly and can be quite dangerous..etc.etc the list goes on and on.. ..

Sounds like my kinda job! Pity I don't know much about fishing or I would just love to show folks to fishing spots Speaking of wildlife - there were loads of peerie mice on the road at the Sandwick Hill last night. I think they might have been harvest mice but perhaps they were just ordinary ones. Lots of them - kinda unusual I thought. pat

Georgeg your reflections photos are superb. The loch is so still they could almost be viewed either way up.
I also liked the hedgehog photo...I'm inclined to think that hedgehogs have the right idea in hibernating for the winter, but when we have boannie days like today I think perhaps not!
