Interesting about the copper pans and lemon and salt.
Have you ever tried cleaning smaller copper items with tomato ketchup YES TOMATO SAUCE..... It works well rub some on item let sit for a minute or two and rub off with a clean rag or paper towel...... Another tip is you can save the rag with the ketchup on it to spread on your next order of chips...........LOL LOL ;D
I know,.......I know.......I'm one sick puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cut a lemon lengthways and wipe it on your shower screen, This helps remove lime-scale.

I've heard of that one cc but never tried it. Mind you since leaving the hotel kitchen I worked in as a poor student (everybody say aahhhh!!) I have never had to clean coppers. They had HUGE fish kettles and pans for the chefs that were all copper. It was very posh!
Here's a good handy hint:
To clean spills in your oven, sprinkle immediately with salt. When the oven has cooled sweep it up with a damp sponge or cloth!

I have a self cleaning oven, so I leave it until it s discusting and then let it clean itself....I did it last night so now I can't use it til I come back.....I am sure this is NOT ECO friendly as it takes 3 hours of the oven being on at extremely high heat. I only do it twice a year
Rub a lemon on a stainless steel knife and then rub it with your fingers .........no more onion smell on your hands.. Of course hopefully you do this AFTER to have chopped the onion....

Mix one part olive oil with one part lemon juice. Rub on furniture or apply with a spray bottle, then polish with a dry cloth. Use this mix to make wood floors gleam.

Clean and shine any stainless steel surface with a paste of soda and water. Apply liberally with a damp cloth. Leave for about 5 minutes, then wipe.

Tea Tree essential oil is a powerful antibacterial agent yet safe to use. It is very effective against mildew, fungi and moulds. Just add 2 teaspons of tea tree oil to 2 cups of water and keep in a spray bottle. Spray regularly on infected areas. Do not rinse. You can also soak your shower curtain in a solution of 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil for 5 litre of water to prevent mildew and fungi building up.

For clean and fresh dishwashing machines.
For clear glasses and general freshening up of your dishwasher, save lemons used for cooking and place them in the cutlery tray (1/2 lemon each time should suffice). It will work like magic during your washing cycle.

To clean spills in your oven, sprinkle immediately with salt. When the oven has cooled sweep it up with a damp sponge or cloth! Lazy person's way to clean spills in your oven. Purchase a Miracle/Magic liner <or whatever it's called> from Lakeland. Cut to exact size of oven floor and insert. When you get any spills, take it out and wash under the tap - stuff slides off. Can even be washed in the dishwasher. <but I don't know why you'd ever really need to!> Great stuff - got one for student sons who are not known for cleaning the oven!

I'm a fan of mg's sentiments regarding the eco friendly cleaning. There's more to life than dusting!
