You did very well there George, not always easy to take photos indoors where there are usually a lot reflective surfaces to contend with. Intereesting pictures also.

Brilliant george, looks to be an extremely intersting place to visit. Museaums seem to have come a long way since the school trips I went on. It's great to see such a variety too. I love the inside of a croft and the tusky pig - he looks a bit dangerous. What breed would he be then? Ah ha! Just had a brainwave (rare for me) I've just been to get my book called Shetland Breeds and apparently a teacher called Jill Blackadder unearthed some bones of island pigs near Breckon near Culinvow. Apparently they were hairy, with a mane and had tusks just like the one in your photo!Their closest relatives live on Ossabaw Island, Georgia, USA descended form Spanish swine from Spanish galleons............sorry, I digress. Your pics certainly give a good flavour of what the museum has to offer. It looks well worth a visit.

Looks a really good Museum from the outside and a fairly new building. Your photos inside are really good - there seems to be so much to see there, something for everyone, did it take long to get round. The price of Whiskey is good 2shillings and sixpence, a real bargain.

Beautiful pics, George.
We spent an afternoon at the museum - what a beautiful place, inside and out. Nice to see the modern building with the preserved past inside. We learned a lot ( grinding flour is not for me!). What a treasure!

Great photos - can't wait to get back to Shetland! The museum is beautiful, both inside and the location. I've visited there couple of times, last time in January after Lerwick Up helly aa. I had misread the tourist information so I came to a guided talk couple of days too late... but instead of leaving me be I got a personal tour by one of the lovely ladies in the museum! Brilliant! Also the Archives are fantastic, I spent couple afternoons there but need to get back to explore more
